What will it cost to cool off the world by one degree in the next thirty years? What is your answer?
We say one billion, eight hundred one million, seven hundred thirty-two thousand dollars (or euros) might lower the heat needle a fraction.
That’s nine hundred million to pay 180,000-450,000 people to turn a wheel of wages to do their thing and to give.
And one hundred million to seven “karmic-suture” schools willing to operate as workshops and make a curriculum out of solving local problems.
Plus one hundred million to buy “magic wands” (a million bucks) for 100 girls now under ten. Let them grow up into the power and influence money brings
With another hundred million to pay 100 Molly teachers to work for 100 days giving money away in the most vital, cooling way possible, something they should be able to do thirty years from now.
Leaving one million, seven hundred thirty-two thousand for other stuff.
If you think the numbers exorbitant consider the size of the global economy and the waste of billionaire buffoonery.
If Molly School were about developing solar power or using less plastic the numbers here might differ. Be we know helping people cool off by doing their thing.
Indeed, if you say, “wouldn’t this money be better spent feeding people or lobbying for politicians to use public transportation and send their kids to public schools” we could hardly argue.
But that work, crucial as it is, is not ours and in the meantime Molly aims to be a middle-class outfit serving all we can in the global village, helping them be who they should be.
